Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective 31 October 2026
This policy explains what I collect when you use tarotbyandrew.com, why I hold it, who else sees it, and how long it stays. It is written to be read, not to be hidden behind.
1. Who is responsible
Tarot by Andrew is run by Andrew Owen, in Oklahoma, United States, and this policy covers the website at tarotbyandrew.com and any email I send from it.
For anything in this policy, including any request about your information, write to help@tarotbyandrew.com.
2. What this policy covers
It covers the reading request form, the newsletter, purchases and downloads, the emails I send, and the few cookies and third-party links that appear on the site.
It does not cover Etsy, PayPal, Amazon or Pinterest. When you follow a link to one of them, or buy from one of them, their own privacy policy applies to what happens there.
3. What I collect
Only what you type in, plus the ordinary technical record any web server keeps.
- Reading requests. Your name, your email address, and whatever you write about the question or situation you are bringing. Your name and email are required so I can reply; the question is yours to word however you like.
- The newsletter. Your email address, and a name if you choose to give one. That is all.
- Emails. If you write to me, I have your address and what you sent.
- Purchases. Books and printed products are sold through Etsy, which handles the order. If I later sell a download directly from this site, the payment will be taken by PayPal. Either way I do not see or store your card or bank details.
- Technical records. The web server keeps standard logs, which include your IP address, the page requested and the time. My hosting provider holds these; I use them only to keep the site working and to deal with abuse.
There are no accounts and no logins on this site. There is no shopping cart on this site. I do not use analytics software, advertising pixels or tracking scripts, and I do not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites.
4. Why I hold it
- To answer a reading request and arrange a date and time.
- To send the newsletter you asked for, and to stop sending it when you ask me to.
- To provide something you bought or download, and to help if it does not arrive.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to meet any legal or tax duty that applies to a sale.
That is the whole list. Your information is not used for anything else.
5. What I will never do with it
I do not sell your information, and I never will. I do not rent it, trade it, or swap it with anyone. I do not put your email address on a list belonging to somebody else, and I do not pass it to an advertiser, a data broker or a marketing network.
Signing up for the newsletter is not consent to anything except the newsletter. It is not a subscription to a product-update list, and it is never passed on as one.
6. Who else sees it
Very few, and only so the site can work:
- My hosting provider, whose server and database hold the site and the newsletter list.
- My email service, which delivers the confirmation email after a reading request and the newsletter when one goes out.
- PayPal and Etsy, where a payment or an order takes place on their own systems.
- Amazon, if you follow an affiliate link to a product there. Amazon and its partners may set their own cookies and know that you arrived from this site.
- Pinterest, where I publish images from my own business account.
Each of those is bound by its own privacy policy, and each sees only what its job requires. Beyond them I disclose information only if the law obliges me to, or to protect someone from serious harm.
7. Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own, and there is nothing here to consent to: no analytics, no advertising, no embedded video or comment system dropping cookies on you.
Two things can create cookies, and neither is mine:
- A link to Amazon or Pinterest, once you follow it, is on their site under their cookie policy.
- If a PayPal button is placed here, PayPal sets what it needs to take a payment safely.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.
8. How long I keep it
For as long as it is needed, and no longer.
- Reading requests are kept while we are arranging the reading, and afterwards as a record of what was discussed, because a reading is a piece of work and people come back to it. Ask me to delete yours and I will.
- Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. When you do, the address stays marked as unsubscribed so a later import cannot quietly add you again — that record is kept so the instruction is honoured, not so you can be contacted.
- Emails are kept as long as the conversation is useful.
- Order and tax records are kept as long as the law requires.
- Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for its own short period, outside my control.
9. Your choices
You can ask me at any time to:
- tell you what I hold about you,
- correct anything wrong,
- delete it,
- stop emailing you.
Write to help@tarotbyandrew.com and I will deal with it within 30 days. There is no form to fill in and no reason to explain yourself. Every newsletter also carries its own unsubscribe link, which works without writing to me at all.
If you live somewhere whose law gives you more than this — the right to object, to portability, or to complain to a regulator — say so in your message and I will honour it. Visitors from outside the United States are welcome, and the same promises apply to them.
10. Free downloads and giveaways
Some things here are given away free: a checklist, a spell sheet, a page from a book. Nothing extra is asked for them beyond an email address if you want to be told when there is more, and no payment details are ever requested for something free.
If you claim a free item without joining the list, you are not on the list. If you join, the rules in section 9 apply, and unsubscribing does not take back anything you have already downloaded.
11. Children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect anything from them. A reading is for adults. If you believe a child has sent something here, write to me and I will remove it.
12. Security and changes
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are handled on the server rather than by a third party, and the database password sits outside the public web folder. No system is perfect, and I will tell you if something goes wrong with information you gave me.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what happens to information you have already given me, I will say so in the newsletter rather than leave you to find it.
Questions about any of this: help@tarotbyandrew.com.
